 Welcome to the Bachelor’s Program of English Language Education

BELE is a study program that embraces an innovative paradigm of English language teaching and learning through the integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and a hybrid learning system. This approach enables students to learn flexibly, collaboratively, and effectively while developing the digital competencies required in today’s rapidly evolving world.

Our vision is to become an excellent and globally competitive study program grounded in STEM education while maintaining a distinctive focus on the maritime and archipelagic context of Maluku. Through an Outcome-Based Education (OBE) curriculum, we prepare students to become competent, innovative, and adaptable professionals who are ready to contribute locally and globally.

Our graduates are prepared for various career opportunities, including Professional English Teachers, Edupreneurs, Translators, Tour Guides, Researchers, and Edu-Media Practitioners. They are equipped with strong English proficiency, pedagogical expertise, digital literacy, intercultural competence, research skills, and leadership qualities.

What makes BELE unique?

We are supported by globally qualified lecturers, with most faculty members holding doctoral degrees from leading universities in Indonesia and abroad.

Our project-based courses provide meaningful learning experiences. Through Creative Writing, students produce authentic works such as poetry anthologies, short stories, short films, and theatrical performances.

We also integrate local wisdom, maritime culture, and technology into learning through courses such as Practical Translation, Digital Literacy, and Instructional Design in TEAL.

Students have opportunities to participate in national and international student exchange programs, broadening their academic, professional, and cultural experiences.

Through partnerships with AMCOR and the Australian Corner, students gain access to international collaborations, professional development opportunities, and global networks.

In addition, we emphasize digital literacy and 21st-century competencies, including critical thinking, creativity, communication, collaboration, and leadership.

Most importantly, we foster a creative academic environment that encourages innovation, research, publication, community engagement, and artistic expression through English.
